International Summer School: United Against Cyberhate

From 29 July to 1 August, 2025, an International Summer School took place at the University of Hamburg as part of the DAAD project “United Against Cyberhate: Prevention and Intervention Strategies for Young People in Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Ukraine” statt.
For four days, teams from Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Ukraine presented interactive workshops. Together with all the guests, they developed, tested and discussed practical strategies against online hate.
The program started with a team from Ukraine, consisting of colleagues from the State University of Intelligent Technologies and Telecommunications, Izmail State University for the Humanities, and South Ukranian National Pedagogical University K. D. Uschinsky). They presented methods for combating cyber hate and proposed concrete actions dedicated to young people. The team from Moldova, representing the Free International University focused on the topic of cyber bullying in the context of inclusive education, emphasizing the role of emotional support. The event was concluded by the team Kyrgyzstan from Taalim-Forum Public Foundation, who presented their own approaches and strategies for addressing cyberbullying in school education.
In addition to the international teams, external guests from Germany also took an active participation in summer school. Among the guests were Björn Kunter from LoveStorm, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Wachs from the HateLess project and the representatives of Youth4Media. They presented their own projects and conducted workshops.
At the end, the teams exchanged their ideas for future projects aimed at sharing the knowledge they had gained and applying it in practice together with young people.
