Ziele                                                         

BOLD builds a bridge between the initial teacher education and engagement in civil society

• Supporting the active citizenship and civic engagement of student teachers by developing knowledge and competencies that foster socially responsible action
• Promoting cooperation between higher education institutions and civil society organizations and associations through the implementation of joint projects that support linguistic and cultural diversity

WP                                                            

• WP 1: Management
• WP2: Analyzing the landscape and principles of social action to promote linguistic and cultural diversity, and presenting opportunities for socially responsible action in connection with language learning and practices of civic engagement
• WP3: Modular training materials consisting of a series of 10 capacity-building modules for pre-service teachers in the field of socially responsible action.
• WP4: Integrating socially responsible action into teacher education curricula and into students’ practical projects. Student teachers carry out projects with associations in order to develop linguistic and intercultural competencies for socially responsible action.
• WP5: Evaluation of the competencies, development, and impact of the projects jointly developed by student teachers and in-service teachers through peer reviews and self-assessment.

Performance Indicators (Selection)      

• 10 modules on linguistic diversity and socially responsible action (e.g., multilingual and intercultural citizenship)
• Toolkit for student teachers who are interested in socially responsible action as part of their university studies
• Handbook on socially responsible action for teacher educators at universities
