EDUREFORM is a four-year project coordinated by Chitkara University and funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. It involves four Indian universities, four European universities, as well as two secondary schools and one SME.
The aim of EDUREFORM is to raise awareness of the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and to empower current and future Indian secondary school teachers to mitigate the anticipated societal effects of the 4IR on the Indian labour market.
Work Focus Areas
SHORT-TERM OBJECTIVES:
- Empowering current and future teachers in training, and creating conditions to mitigate the negative impacts of the 4IR on the Indian workforce.
- Implementing pilot activities in Indian secondary schools to improve students’ analytical, critical, and creative skills.
- Gradual and sustainable expansion of the EDUREFORM network as an open platform.
- Investing in the development of parallel capacity-building activities.
MEDIUM- TO LONG-TERM OBJECTIVES:
- Mitigating the impact of the 4IR on the Indian labour market by fostering critical and analytical skills among Indian upper secondary school students.
- Introducing and consistently applying teaching methods that promote critical, creative, and analytical thinking among Indian secondary school students.
- Establishing EDUREFORM as a national best practice and raising awareness of the role of educators in addressing societal challenges related to the 4IR.
- Building new Indo-European joint initiatives and further developing EDUREFORM.
- Implementing parallel capacity-building measures and establishing the Indo-European Alliance for Teacher Education.

As part of the project, a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) was developed in collaboration with an Italian university, presenting and teaching the innovative tools..
EDUREFORM Vocational Training for Teachers
In the second half of the project period, training courses at Master’s level will be offered toIndian teachers, in which the innovative pedagogical tools are taught.
EDUREFORM Student Mobility in Hamburg
At the end of September 2023, seven Indian students visited the University of Hamburg and completed a three-week internship as part of the project at two different upper secondary schools in Hamburg.

The EDUREFORM Handbook for Innovative Pedagogy
A handbook containing all tools developed within the project is available. The book is available for free download on the website.
