Application as an incoming student
To be nominated for an Erasmus exchange at the faculty of Education, you will need to follow the application procedure for the Erasmus exchange at your home university. Please apply with your Erasmus office / coordinator. An official Erasmus+-Agreement between your home university and our Faculty of Educational Sciences four your study course is required.
Once you are selected, we will receive your information through them and will inform you on how to proceed with your application to University of Hamburg as well as to our student dormitories.
Important Information
Winter semester: 1st of October to 31st of March
Summer semester: 1st of April to 30th of September
Please note that the lecture period (time period where all the lectures take place, not the self study period) differs from the general semester period.
The new course offers are being published in the beginning of February for the upcoming summer semester and in the beginning of August for the upcoming winter semester.
For a study stay at the Faculty of Education at the University of Hamburg within the Erasmus+ programme, your language proficiency in the language of instruction must be at least at the B1-B2 level. The main language of instruction is German; exceptions apply to courses taught in the respective target languages, which are indicated in the relevant course descriptions.
This requirement is intended to ensure your academic success, as insufficient language proficiency may make it difficult to follow classes and meet the academic requirements.
