Early Education
Here, language education and forms and ways how multilingualism is dealt with are researched. An action-oriented view on educator-child interaction is developed empirically. Further, professionalization and organizational development in the field of language policy are examined.

In this area, our studies focus on diversity-sensitive and multilingualism-inclusive teaching practices and school development. A variety of methodological approaches are used, including intervention and evaluation studies, surveys and participatory research.

Our research in higher education focuses on developing, testing and evaluating (interdisciplinary) teaching and learning arrangements, e.g. based on a diversity approach, on the internationalisation of teacher training programmes, and on teacher professionalization at university.

Transfer research and transfer into practice
In this field we examine conditions of success for the transfer of research findings into educational practice. Furthermore, findings are disseminated to educational practice and administration through lectures, professional development courses and other formats.
