In our research group we focus on education in a society shaped by migration processes. Here, all children and adolescents experience social, cultural and linguistic diversity as the norm. At the same time, they experience that social, cultural and linguistic backgrounds are treated unequally, especially in national educational institutions. A key focus of our work is on challenges of socially equitable education. In particular, we are concerned with studies relating to (language) education and multilingualism in the family, in early childhood education and care, at school and across the lifespan. Our research in this area takes social structures within their historical contexts into account.
