We are happy to announce that LiDS Lunch lecture will take place at VMP 8 on November first! The event will be featuring  Mafalda Leal Campos, Ph.D. student at Ispa - Instituto Universitário Lisbon, who has been awarded the WERA Visiting Researcher Award 2023 and will be working alongside IEA Hamburg and the Research Center LiDS at the University of Hamburg in October - November 2023.

In her lecture "Who I am and where I come from: Socio-affective components in ethnic-racial minority and immigrant students and the role of language and literacy", she will look at what literature and data tells us about identity and socio- affective patterns in minority students and how they differ from their non-minority peers, as well as how this impacts their adjustment. Literacy learning will be examined as one of the main aspects of diversity in the educational process of minority students.
