Here you can find information on ordering software for employees. If you are a student, check the Regional Computing Center (RRZ) website.
Where can I get software from?
You can get software from the Regional Computing Center (RRZ) at Universität Hamburg only. Unfortunately, the Education Media Center cannot provide you with software or software licenses.
How do I submit a request for software?
You can submit a request for software via the RRZ ServicePortal.
To access the RRZ ServicePortal, you need to be connected to the University’s network—for example, via a VPN connection or eduroam.
Illustrated instructions on submitting a request for a software license
How do I submit a request for software that is not listed in the catalog?
For software that is not listed in the catalog, select the product "Antrag für neue Softwareprodukte (SRV02396)".
Can I submit a software request for other people?
Yes, you can also submit a software request for other employees—but not for students. Follow these illustrated instructions.
Can the team of Digital Work also request software on my behalf?
Yes, we can—just like any other Universität Hamburg employee. Do not hesitate to contact us(digitalearbeit.ew"AT"uni-hamburg.de) if you encounter difficulties when requesting software. Be sure to provide us with the reason you wish to use the software in question, as the RRZ system will often ask for this information. We will also need the name of your computer or laptop. This will all help to shorten the process.
Important: We do not have a deeper insight into the RRZ system than you do, more rights than you have, or any possibility to decide or influence anything regarding your software request in the RRZ ServicePortal.
