Media education and inclusion in sports lessons for primary schools
Funded by Leuphana University Lüneburg
Duration: March 2018–February 2019
The MeIn Sport project focused on the possibilities and limits of using notebooks to help students in need of extra support in sports lessons.
At the primary school in Arnkielstraße, Altona, 2 classes were jointly conducted and evaluated over the course of several months. Together, teachers and researchers planned the lessons, incorporating the expertise of both groups in the lesson plans.
The classes were given notebooks intended to provide aid during the sports lessons—for example,
- movement analysis via video,
- explanation of rules using animation, and
- language acquisition support using programs such as GoTalkNow.
The evaluation was based on standardized observations made by the researchers and interviews with the students and teachers.
